The cause of death for Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash’s stepdaughter, Lucy-Bleu Knight, has been determined.

On July 19, Slash shared the news of Lucy-Bleu’s passing via a statement on his Instagram page, saying: “Lucy-Bleu Knight (December 6, 1998), beloved daughter of Meegan Hodges and Mark Knight, stepdaughter of Samantha Somers Knight and Slash, sister of Scarlet Knight, stepsister of London and Cash Hudson, passed away peacefully in Los Angeles, CA on July 19, 2024.”

He added: “Lucy-Bleu was an incredibly talented artist, a passionate dreamer, and a charming, lovable, sweet soul.”

The statement continued: “The family asks for privacy at this time and requests that social media speculation be kept to a minimum as they grieve and process this devastating loss.”

According to an exclusive report by The New York Post, the cause of Lucy-Bleu’s death has been attributed to hydrogen sulfide toxicity. She was 25 years old.

The Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that the manner of death was suicide.

The coroner’s office told The New York Post: “Ms. Knight was found unresponsive in a private residence on July 19 by law enforcement conducting a welfare check. Death was pronounced at 1500 hours. An examination was performed by a deputy medical examiner on July 22. The cause of death was certified on August 29.”

Initially, Lucy-Bleu’s cause of death was postponed for additional testing.

Hydrogen sulfide is a highly flammable and poisonous gas that is toxic to humans.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention notes that mild exposure to the gas can cause symptoms like headaches, nausea, tremors, convulsions, delirium, and skin or eye irritation. Severe exposure can lead to unconsciousness or death.

Lucy-Bleu was the daughter of Slash’s long-term partner, Meegan Hodges, and her former partner Mark Knight. Slash and Hodges initially dated in 1989 and rekindled their relationship in 2015.

Slash viewed Lucy-Bleu as a stepsister to his biological sons, London, 22, and Cash, 20.

Following Lucy-Bleu’s death, a post appeared on her Instagram just hours after Slash’s announcement. It featured a selfie she had taken, with the caption: “Whether I made you feel excluded, manipulated/ controlled you, told you to quit your day job from the comfort of being financially supported by my parents, or drowned real issues in toxic positivity-I am sorry.”

The caption continued: “Countless missed opportunities and connections due to a disgustingly big ego, insecure heart and fear of being vulnerable. May my soul learn to evolve from my poor job at being Lucy-Bleu. Peace.”
