Celine Dion recently shared a heartfelt video with her followers, providing a personal update on her journey with stiff-person syndrome (SPS), a rare and incurable autoimmune neurological disorder.
In 2022, the iconic Canadian singer revealed her SPS diagnosis, which led to the cancellation of several tour dates as her condition progressed. Dion, who ranks as the third best-selling female artist in the world, described how SPS impacts her daily life, causing muscle spasms that affect her mobility and her renowned singing voice.
This Thanksgiving, the 57-year-old artist, known for hits like “Power of Love,” appeared more composed as she delivered a thoughtful message to her fans, seated elegantly on a plush cushion.
“Dear friends, today is a beautiful reminder to slow down, take a deep breath, and give thanks,” Dion expressed.

She added, “There’s something so powerful about gathering with the people you love. Whether around the full table, over the phone, or even just in your heart.”
Dion’s reflections resonate deeply, especially considering her challenging past decade, marked by the loss of her husband and her brother to cancer within days of each other in 2016.
Despite these hardships, Dion has remained optimistic, focusing on life with her three sons—24-year-old René-Charles and 15-year-old twins Nelson and Eddy.
Last year, managing SPS became increasingly challenging for Dion, who likened her condition to feeling “like somebody is strangling you.”
In her Thanksgiving message, Dion expressed gratitude, saying, “I’m so thankful to my family in our moments together that mean the world to me.”
“May your Thanksgiving be filled with joy, with peace and gratitude for everything, even the little things,” she continued.
As she shared her gratitude for the year, Dion stated, “I’m so thankful to my family and our moments together that meant the world to me.”
Dion’s fans, who have supported her throughout her career, were delighted to see her looking radiant in her social media update, a stark contrast to her appearance when she first disclosed her diagnosis.
“Wishing everyone a beautiful and peaceful Thanksgiving,” she concluded in the post, which received over 100,000 likes and numerous supportive comments.
“May your day be filled with love, gratitude, and precious moments with the people who mean the most to you,” Dion wrote, signing off with two kisses.
