Erika Kirk, wife of Charlie Kirk, posted a video showing her late husband recounting the story of how they met to their daughter.
Charlie Kirk was tragically killed while speaking at an event hosted by his organization, Turning Point USA, at Utah Valley University on a Wednesday (September 10).
The authorities urged the public to assist in identifying the shooter after a suspect was spotted on a college campus rooftop.
By Friday (September 12), the FBI announced the arrest of a suspect named Robinson, aged 22.
Many have expressed their condolences for Kirk, including his wife Erika, who shared a video in which Kirk narrates to their young daughter the story of how her parents met, captioned as “… my favorite love story.”
In the video, Kirk is heard explaining to his three-year-old: “We’re here at Bill’s Burgers in New York City. Right near this very table was the first time Dada met Mama.
“It started as a job interview, and I was asking all these questions… Then I realised Mama was beautiful and smart and elegant and Christlike, and so I said, ‘Forget this job interview. I want to date you’.”
Over the weekend, Erika promised to honor her husband’s legacy by continuing his efforts through the campus tour, ‘The American Come Back Tour’, his radio show, and his podcast.
“Our campus tour this fall will continue,” she stated. “There will be even more tours in the years to come.”
Addressing her late husband, Erika pledged to ‘never let your legacy die’.
“In a world filled with chaos, doubt and uncertainty, my husband’s voice will remain and it will ring out louder and more clearly than ever and his wisdom will endure,” she said.
Erika expressed gratitude towards the first responders for their valiant attempts to save Charles’ life, Kirk’s colleagues, and the White House, in addition to thanking Vice President JD Vance and his wife, Usha, for assisting in bringing home Kirk’s coffin.
She also expressed gratitude to President Donald Trump for his ‘amazing friendship’ with Kirk, adding: “Mr President, my husband loved you. And he knew that you loved him too.”
Erika stated that Kirk’s death occurred because he ‘preached a message of patriotism, faith and of God’s merciful love’.
On Monday (September 15), FBI Director Kash Patel provided an update revealing a concerning note allegedly written by Robinson, stating an intent to ‘take out’ Kirk.
“The note was written before the shooting, it was in the suspect’s home,” Patel shared with Fox News.
