A Santa Clarita homeowner is speaking out after his doorbell camera captured a man dumping an unconscious woman on a residential street and speeding away in a white pickup truck.
Dan Villa told Fox 11 he was aghast when he reviewed the footage from last Friday evening. “I thought that was the most disgusting thing I’ve ever seen. She was unconscious and unresponsive,” he said.
The incident occurred around 8:24 p.m. In the Saugus neighborhood, where Villa’s camera recorded the male suspect pulling over in the white truck. The man walked to the passenger side before returning to the driver’s seat and fleeing, leaving the woman slumped over and alone in the dark.
Two local high school students discovered the woman, who appeared limp and highly intoxicated, and called for help. First responders arrived near Centurion Park approximately 90 minutes later, at about 9:50 p.m., and transported her to a hospital.

Villa expressed sharp condemnation of the driver’s actions regardless of any possible explanation. “No one deserves to be put on the side of the road like that. I don’t care if it’s an argument or anything like that. No one deserves that.”
The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station said deputies have identified the woman and are pursuing follow-up inquiries. “Deputies identified the woman involved and are conducting follow-up inquiries to gather additional information regarding the circumstances surrounding the incident and determine whether any criminal activity occurred involving the male individual seen in the video,” the station said in a statement.

Retired LAPD Detective Moses Castillo weighed in on the investigation, telling Fox 11 that the circumstances warrant examination of whether more serious crimes occurred. “When you look at this video, it’s very disturbing that a man would just dump a female on the street,” he said.
Castillo added that he believes any normal person would have taken the woman to a hospital rather than abandoning her. He suggested investigators should consider whether sexual assault or kidnapping may have been involved.

The woman’s current condition has not been disclosed, and authorities have not indicated whether she and the male suspect were acquainted. It remains unclear if the suspect has been identified or if criminal charges have been filed.
The video has circulated widely online, drawing outrage from viewers who echoed Villa’s reaction to the footage. The case highlights ongoing concerns about bystander intervention and the vulnerability of intoxicated individuals left in isolated circumstances.

Authorities have not released additional details about the ongoing investigation as they work to determine the full circumstances of how the woman came to be in the suspect’s vehicle and what transpired before she was abandoned on the street.
