Over the years, Chris Hemsworth has collaborated with many of Hollywood’s elite, including Robert Downey Jr., Anya Taylor-Joy, and Miles Teller.
However, Hemsworth reveals there is one actor whose presence on set was particularly ‘intimidating’ for him.
At 41, Hemsworth is preparing for the release of “Crime 101,” where he takes on the role of Davis, a jewel thief.
The movie, directed by Bart Layton and adapted from Don Winslow’s novella, features Hemsworth alongside fellow Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) star Mark Ruffalo, Irish actor Barry Keoghan, and Monica Barbaro from “A Complete Unknown.”
Set to debut on Amazon Prime Video, “Crime 101” includes a guest appearance by Halle Berry, famous for her role in “X-Men.”
Berry, an Academy Award and Golden Globe winner, attended CinemaCon in Las Vegas to promote the film.
During the event, she praised her co-star Hemsworth, calling him a ‘stand-up guy.’
“I won’t go into it now but he stood up for me in a moment in our movie, and instantly I knew right then I’m gonna follow this guy, be a fan of this guy for the rest of his life because he stood up for a woman,” she told E! News. “He didn’t have to do it and he did it.”
After their collaboration, Berry said Hemsworth quickly became one of her ‘new favorite people in the world.’
Hemsworth, a father of three, also expressed his admiration for Berry, though he admitted feeling ‘very intimidated’ working with her.
“I’ve admired Halle’s work for many, many years. I was obviously very intimidated to sit opposite her within a scene and try and, you know, not just be in awe of what she was doing,” he told E! News.
“Certain people just bring out not just the best in you, but also sort of a comfort level where it feels like it’s a place to explore and it’s a place to examine different ideas and try different things. And that was the experience [with Berry],”
“I loved every second of it.”
Interestingly, his encounter with Halle Berry isn’t the only instance that left Hemsworth feeling a bit flustered.
During a visit to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the actor shared an experience where he asked 23-year-old Billie Eilish for a selfie at the 2025 Oscars.
“I remember thinking, ‘Ah, don’t do it, don’t do it,’” he recalled during the March 26 episode. “I was like, ‘No, my kids are going to love this.’ And then the moment I took it, I was like, ‘I went from work colleague to now like a fan,’” he told Colbert.
“We will never be friends, never be best friends,” Hemsworth added, jokingly.
