Christina Aguilera unfollowed Britney Spears on Instagram after her long-time pop rival body-shamed her backup dancers.
The 40-year-old Spears uploaded a lengthy comment on Monday afternoon that included the line, “If I had Christina Aguilera’s dancers, I would have looked extremely small.”
The “Toxic” singer wrote the message along with a quote attributed to Rodney Dangerfield. It read: “I found there was only one way to look thin: hang out with fat people.”
Spears’ tweet attracted much criticism and was still on her website as of Tuesday morning.
One Instagram user said, “Body shaming others is not the move.”
“You need to erase this,” another reader said.
Aguilera, 41, has not yet responded publicly to the tweet that criticized the bodies of her dancers.
Since her conservatorship was terminated in November 2021, allowing Spears to speak without restriction for the first time in 13 years, she has not held back from criticizing anybody or anything.
