The community is left in confusion after a fourth teenage girl was reported missing in Bexar County within a short span of less than ten days. Despite the alarming frequency, police have not suggested any connections between the disappearances.
The sequence of events began with the disappearance of Camila Mendoza Olmos, last seen outside her home on Christmas Eve in Bexar County, San Antonio.
A thorough search was conducted, but tragically, Olmos was found deceased near her home, with the medical examiner ruling her death as a suicide.
In the days following, the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office announced three more missing teenagers, leading to increased public concern about the situation.

As of January 2, two teenagers remain missing in Bexar County, Texas, including Angelique Johnson, whose disappearance was reported by police on Christmas Day. Most recently, Anastasia Vasquez was reported missing, last seen on New Year’s Day.
Another reported case involved 14-year-old Sofia Gabriela Peters-Cobos, who was reported missing on December 29. Fortunately, she was found ‘alive and well’ the following day.
Johnson, at 17, is the oldest of the two remaining missing teens. She was last seen on Exeter Place, near Potranco Road on San Antonio’s northwest side.
The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office has shared on Facebook that Johnson is believed to still be in possession of her cell phone, though her precise location is unknown.
Described as being 5’10” tall, weighing 198 lbs, with brown hair and eyes, the Sheriff’s Office urges anyone with information to call (210) 335-6000 or email the BCSO Missing Persons Unit at [email protected].

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office also reported that Vasquez, aged 14, went missing on January 1.
She is described as 5’2″, weighing 125 lbs, with brown hair and eyes, and was last seen wearing a black shirt and grey sweatpants.
Authorities note that Vasquez lacks a cell phone and urge anyone with information to contact the Sheriff’s Office at (210)335-6000 or the BCSO Missing Persons Unit at [email protected].

The news of Vasquez’s disappearance sparked public concern over the rise in missing teenager reports.
One Facebook user commented, “What is going on in yall county!” and expressed prayers for the safe return of the teenagers.
Another user questioned, “ANOTHER ONE??? wtf is going on?!” while some suggested that the prompt reporting of missing teens reflects proactive parental action rather than an increase in cases.
A commenter noted that proactive reporting is beneficial, suggesting parents are becoming more vigilant about reporting missing children.
Before Vasquez’s case, authorities addressed the other missing teen cases and noted no confirmed connections between them.
According to the Texas Center for the Missing, there were 330,957 minors reported missing in the state in 2024.
Additional comments from the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office have been sought.
