Details have been announced regarding the funeral of Ozzy Osbourne and how fans can watch the procession on Wednesday, July 30.
The frontman of Black Sabbath passed away last week at the age of 76 at his estate in the UK, having dealt with Parkinson’s disease in his later years.
Just weeks prior to his death, Ozzy performed with Black Sabbath in his hometown of Birmingham, raising an impressive $190 million for charity.
The family released a statement confirming Ozzy’s passing, saying: “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”
The funeral will be held in Birmingham on Wednesday, July 30, with a procession down Broad Street. Fans are expected to gather in large numbers to bid farewell to the ‘Prince of Darkness’ as he is laid to rest.
The procession will make a stop at the Black Sabbath bench and bridge, featuring a live performance by Bostin’ Brass musicians.
Sharon Osbourne, Ozzy’s wife, along with their three children Aimee, Kelly, and Jack, will be present at both the procession and the private funeral.
It is yet to be confirmed if Ozzy’s children from his first marriage to Thelma Riley, Louis and Jessica, will join the family, nor is it confirmed whether his adopted son, Elliot Kingsley, will be there.
The procession is scheduled to commence at 1pm local time (8am EST/5am PT) along Broad Street in Birmingham, concluding at the Black Sabbath Bench, where fans have placed numerous flowers.

Birmingham’s Mayor, Councillor Zafar Iqbal, spoke about the event, stating: “Ozzy was more than a music legend – he was a son of Birmingham.
“Having recently been awarded the Freedom of the City and following his celebrated appearance at the Back to the Beginning concert at Villa Park earlier this month, it was important to the city that we support a fitting, dignified tribute ahead of a private family funeral.”
In addition, fans located in Birmingham can leave their tributes by signing the book of condolences available at the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery.
