WATCH: Cop Violently Punches Beachgoer In Head During Arrest

Emily Weinman, a 20-year-old woman from Philadelphia, was enjoying the start of her Memorial Day weekend at a New Jersey Beach when she was approached by police.

After being found in possession of alcohol, she was questioned and passed a breath-test administered by the police. She then asked the cops if they had “anything better to do,” to which one of them responded with: “I was gonna let you go but now I’ll write you up.”

She refused to give her name and was “cautiously” backing away when she tripped and fell. The cop tackled her to the ground and allegedly smashed her head into the sand.

“Honestly, I can say if I took even a sip, then I would’ve gave them my information and called it a day; I’m underage, so I know better,” she wrote.

“But this whole situation was handled wrongly and blew out of proportion all because these pigs didn’t do their jobs the way they were TRAINED to do so.”

A video of the arrest was taken by Twitter user @HewittLexy who posted the footage to her account which said: “I was sleeping on the beach and I woke up to this…i can’t believe it..”

In the video, Weinman can be seen being violently tackled to the ground and then punched twice on the head. She is then seen flipped over with the cop’s forearm on her neck.

She’s heard screaming, “You’re not allowed to hit me like that!” and “I didn’t do anything wrong!” Another woman in the background is heard saying, “Stop resisting!” as Weinman is handcuffed by two police officers.

The video has been viewed over 3 million times and has been retweeted over 30,000 times.

A probe has been launched to look into the incident and the Wildwood Police Department has posted their statement regarding the issue on their Facebook page.
