Costco Shoppers Are Racing to Grab Fan-Favorite Cookies Finally Back in Stores

A much-loved Costco snack is now available in the US, and shoppers are rushing to try it.

In America, Costco is often associated with its famously low-priced hot dogs, a deal the company has worked hard to protect over the years by keeping a close eye on its food operations and supply chain.

Still, the warehouse chain has plenty of other food favorites, and one imported treat is now drawing major attention from US shoppers, according to FOX News.

The item has traveled a considerable distance to reach American shelves, making its way across the Pacific from Australia.

Costco continues to be a go-to retailer for members looking to buy in bulk, with discounted wholesale pricing helping many families reduce their overall grocery spending.

So which snack is causing all the buzz?

It is Tim Tams, the well-known Australian cookies, or biscuits.

Made by Arnott’s in Australia, the snack consists of a chocolate-covered biscuit with a creamy filling sandwiched between two biscuit layers.

Tim Tams were created in 1964 and have long been one of Australia’s signature packaged treats, with Arnott’s describing them as the country’s most loved chocolate biscuit.

Costco has been carrying Arnott’s Tim Tam Original in 6-count packs in the United States, and the product has quickly gained traction online as shoppers post reviews and reactions.

Availability appears to vary by warehouse and online channel, though, so some shoppers have found them on shelves while others have seen them sell out quickly.

Many have also been trying the ‘Tim Tam Slam’, a method where a person bites off opposite corners and uses the biscuit like a ‘straw’ to sip coffee or tea before eating it just before it falls apart.

Unsurprisingly, that trend has also spread across social media, with TikTok users sharing their own attempts.

The craze has not been limited to online platforms either, as it has also shown up on television.

Isla Fisher has also demonstrated the practice in her appearance on the The Kelly Clarkson Show.

Meanwhile, Succession star Sarah Snook showed how the Tim Tam Slam works during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Each biscuit is fully coated in chocolate and has a filling sandwiched between the two layers in the middle.

Shoppers in the US can now pick up a six-sleeve box for about $15, with 66 cookies included in each pack.

That works out to 11 biscuits per sleeve, making the Costco version a much larger buy than the typical single sleeve sold at many specialty retailers.

Although Tim Tams were previously sold in the US, they were mostly found through specialty stores that imported them or through occasional retailer promotions.

The biscuits have been around in Australia for decades, having first launched in 1964, and they have since built a following both at home and abroad.

For Costco shoppers, the appeal is simple: a familiar cult favorite from overseas, sold in bulk, at a price that makes it easy to throw a box in the cart and see what the hype is about.
