A couple accused of making off with hundreds of dollars’ worth of items during a late-night burglary at a restaurant apparently took some time to share an intimate moment.
At approximately 10am on a Saturday (October 25), local police responded to a delayed report of a burglary at a restaurant in Old Town Scottsdale, Arizona.
Employees at Mon Cheri reported that security cameras captured a man and a woman at around 3.50am that day. The footage reportedly shows them breaking into the building and allegedly taking various items.
Although the alleged thieves reportedly took $450 in cash, an iPhone 5, and a bottle of liquor, owner Lexi Caliskan has maintained a positive attitude about the situation. She mentioned how the suspected burglars seemed to have had a romantic encounter among the roses on the patio before allegedly committing the theft.
In a conversation with Fox 10 Phoenix, Caliskan stated: “I think it’s maybe all the roses. They definitely have some romantic time up front on the property and our roses.
“And Mon Cheri is my dear in French, which is a really endearing term, so you never know.

“It’s a beautiful place for photos.”
The restaurant shared clips of the supposed ‘love birds’ on social media, including a short video of the woman seemingly removing her coat before getting into an awkward position.
“Help.. they violated our roses, stole cash, liquor & our host phone….,” read the caption on Mon Cheri’s Instagram post.
Caliskan described the incident as a ‘modern day Bonnie and Clyde’ situation, noting the presence of ‘roses everywhere’ and how the man seemed to snack on a bag of chips soon after the NSFW act.
“To be so casual, to eat afterward,” the surprised owner commented to ABC 15.
The couple, initially wearing masks before removing them, reportedly gained entry by breaking down two doors.

They then allegedly vandalized the hostess stand and registers.
The venue is popular for its Instagram-worthy setting and is known as the ‘home of pink pasta,’ featuring an abundance of pink roses, food, and drinks in a warm, romantic ambiance.
Despite its charming atmosphere, Mon Cheri staff are now warning the alleged offenders to stay away from their cherished establishment after the reported ‘violation.’
“This is such a happy place, like c’mon. Look how beautiful. Stay out. We don’t want you. Leave. Never come back,” expressed lead server Caitlyn.

“Just having somebody come inside of your personal space, even if they’ve not stolen anything like it’s not okay.
“And so I think we all just felt really violated, to be honest.”
Caliskan added: “Yeah, do not come here. Do not steal from us. We will catch you and we will find you.”
The couple has reportedly not yet been apprehended.
Scottsdale Police Department has been contacted for comment.
