The creator of the original GlamBot has come forward to discuss the concept behind the famed celebrity phenomenon.
Regardless of how long you’ve been browsing social media, your TikTok feed has likely introduced you to the high-resolution ‘Glambot’ clips featuring celebrities in their glamorous ensembles at various red carpet occasions.
As the GlamBot circles around, celebrities pose elegantly in their impressive outfits, capturing every detail with a glossy finish.
What started as a viral sensation has now been embraced by everyday users and humorously mimicked through meme videos.
On the red carpet, the man behind the camera is Cole Walliser, a Canadian filmmaker and director known for working with stars such as Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, and P!nk.
Walliser is now a regular figure during awards season, often seen guiding celebrities through the Glambot process while offering supportive comments.

This week, the GlamBot made news as people criticized Jennifer Lopez for her seemingly ‘rude’ behavior towards its operator, leading to the revelation that Walliser is not the device’s original inventor.
Joseph Kahn, a name familiar in the music video industry, recently revealed himself as the genuine creator of the GlamBot.
Kahn, who has directed videos for artists like Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Eminem, and Snoop Dogg, came forward on X, previously known as Twitter.
On January 20, Kahn highlighted a 2016 tweet from E! Insider, which congratulated him on a Grammy win for Taylor Swift’s ‘Bad Blood’ music video and noted him as the ‘director of E! Glambot.’
Kahn offered clarification by quote-tweeting the post: “I keep hearing my name and Glambot. Yes, I created it back in 2016 for E!
“The lighting, camera work, lens choices, and methodology are all my design.”

He added: “I ended up having to both operate and win a Grammy at the same time at the Grammys lol. It was too much. It’s fun but I’m busy.”
While Kahn chose not to comment on recent GlamBot controversies, he did express his views on its development.
Reflecting on an old GlamBot clip of Will and Jada Smith, he mentioned: “I never really intended it to just be a series of poses though.
“Even if it’s a couple seconds long, tell a story. Let’s get to know them.”
To update on his current work, Kahn ended his thread with some news.
I keep hearing my name and Glambot. Yes I created it back in 2016 for E! The lighting, camera work, lens choices, and methodology are all my design.
