Prepare to be amazed (and horrified). This incredible video shows a crocodile making a gravity-defying leap out of water “like a torpedo”:
National Geographic photographer Trevor Frost captured this incredible video while on assignment for Science Magazine.
A crocodile’s tail is solid muscle and “a major source of power,” according to the government of Australia’s Northern Territory. Their tails make them strong swimmers and capable of sudden lunges out of the water to capture prey. If that wasn’t scary enough, these strong muscles also mean that for shorts bursts of time crocodiles can move faster on land than humans can!
And if you’re still not freaked out, apparently they can climb trees, too. Crikey.
