If you’re dissatisfied with the results of the 2024 US election, consider taking a four-year cruise and returning just in time for the next election cycle!
All you’ll need is your passport and some financial planning. For many, this experience might be well worth the investment.
This unique travel opportunity is offered by Villa Vie Residences, a cruise line providing extended voyages that redefine vacationing.
Instead of a brief getaway where you visit a couple of islands during your time off work, this cruise allows passengers to leave everyday life behind for months or even years.
On Thursday, November 7, the company introduced a new travel package seemingly in response to the US election outcome, where Donald Trump achieved the 270 electoral votes necessary to become the 47th President of the United States.
The package, dubbed ‘Skip Forward,’ is a four-year-long journey that includes 140 countries across all seven continents of the globe.
For those wanting a shorter escape, the ‘Mid-Term Selection’ package spans two years, aligning with the US midterm elections, which occur halfway through a presidential term.
The cruise ship is equipped with everything passengers might need, including high-speed internet, housekeeping, all-inclusive dining, spa services, and fitness programs. Guests can also invite friends and family for a visit if they’re nearby, at a daily rate of $129.
While not aboard the ship, travelers can explore destinations such as Buenos Aires, Japan, Sydney, Bali, the Philippines, Singapore, and Mumbai, among others.
So how much does it cost to avoid US politics for four years? A room for one starts at $255,999, while a double-occupancy room costs $319,998.
If you’d prefer a two-year getaway and then decide if you want to return, a single-occupancy room is priced at $150,399, and a double at $187,998.
For more flexibility, one-year trips begin at $79,999, and three-year journeys start at $207,999.
According to a statement given to Business Insider, a representative from Villa Vie Residences shared that life aboard the ship offers passengers “flexibility to escape traffic jams, politics, and the monotony of city life.”
It’s certainly an enticing prospect!
