A woman who discovered her then-husband was a paedophile has spoken about their current relationship status.
Lynsey Crombie, who gained the title ‘Queen of Clean’, uncovered the shocking truth about her ex-husband while she was pregnant with twins.
Lynsey recounted that she was completely unaware of her ex-husband’s dark secret until the police arrived at their home early in the morning, conducted a search, and took him into custody.
The revelation and subsequent turmoil led Lynsey, who was 28 weeks into her pregnancy, to go into premature labor.
Luckily, her daughters, who are now 22, were unharmed, but Lynsey struggled to come to terms with the truth about the man she had once trusted.
After the revelation, Lynsey shared on This Morning that she began obsessively cleaning everything, including using bleach on herself, in an attempt to remove any trace of her ex’s ‘germs’.
This obsession with cleanliness ultimately became a focus for Lynsey, allowing her to establish a successful career from it.
Concerning her relationship with her ex-husband, there is none. She severed ties with him and his family entirely, and her daughters do not have any contact with him.
During his time in prison, her ex attempted to reach out to Lynsey through letters, and he has faced multiple imprisonments.
“He got two years last year; it’s the third or fourth time he’s been in,” she explained, noting that authorities discovered inappropriate content involving children and animals on his computer.
Lynsey later learned her ex-husband had a past conviction for child sex offences, a fact his family was aware of but did not disclose to her.
She disclosed that her ex’s mother had mentioned his criminal history but omitted critical details.
Now, Lynsey has completely distanced herself from them and is happily married to her current husband, Rob, with whom she shares a teenage son.
Her daughters also regard Rob as their father.
Lynsey previously detailed the traumatic moment of her discovery to the Daily Mail.
She described: “I remember pouring it [bleach] all over the work surfaces, and over my own hands and arms, and I scrubbed. I scrubbed everything – myself included – with a scourer. I remember thinking that this man had touched me physically and I want all his germs to go.”
Lynsey also recalled signs she previously overlooked, such as her ex-husband’s excessive computer use and his habit of unplugging it whenever she entered the room.
