Musician D4vd has taken a significant step following the tragic discovery of a 15-year-old girl’s body in a vehicle associated with him.
David Anthony Burke, known professionally as D4vd, was on a promotional tour for his debut album when the unsettling discovery was made.
A Tesla, registered in his name, was impounded on September 6 in Los Angeles. Staff noticed an unpleasant odor from the car two days later.
Upon investigation, they discovered a bag containing the dismembered body of a 15-year-old girl.
The remains were later identified as Celeste Rivas Hernandez, who had been missing for over a year.
Authorities are currently looking into the case, and D4vd has not been declared a suspect, nor have any charges been brought against him.
Representatives for the musician informed NBC that he had been made aware of the incident and, despite being on tour, he is fully cooperating with law enforcement.
Recent reports indicate that D4vd has transferred ownership of two properties in Texas to his mother, as shown by legal filings.
One of the properties in Houston was transferred on September 23, as per ABC 7, and another on September 18, according to TMZ.
This action is believed to have followed an incident of ‘swatting’ at one of the addresses on September 17—where a false emergency call was reported.
An audio recording of a 911 call led authorities to the property, with the caller alleging: “I heard, like, some gunshots… and I think someone is dead.”
Police arrived with weapons drawn, as shown in body camera footage from the Waller County District Attorney’s Office, only to find the call was a prank.
The investigation into the discovery of Celeste’s remains continues.
In light of these events, D4vd has paused his album tour and continues to assist the authorities.
The car had reportedly been abandoned on a street for some time before being moved to an impound on North Mansfield Avenue in the Hollywood Hills, where staff detected the odor.
Staff found a plastic bag containing the dismembered body while investigating, and subsequently contacted the police.
Celeste’s family, devastated by the tragedy, has initiated a GoFundMe campaign to help with funeral costs.
They expressed: “She was a beloved daughter, sister, cousin, and friend. Her family is heartbroken and devastated by this tragic loss. They are seeking help to lay her body to rest. Any funds you are able to donate are greatly appreciated.”
Celeste disappeared from Lake Elsinore, California, in April 2024 when she was 13.
Following the discovery of her remains, D4vd’s team has discreetly removed listings for his Los Angeles shows and an event at the LA Grammy Museum from official platforms.
Sources have informed TMZ that all remaining tour dates have been called off.
Representatives for D4vd have been contacted for further comment.
