Daisy Edgar-Jones’ stylist has detailed the months-long effort to weave her press wardrobe back to her “Sense and Sensibility” character.
Dani Michelle, who dressed the actress, 28, for every stop from London to Los Angeles, told Vogue UK that she hunted for “corsetry, lace, puffed silks, florals and brocade” to echo Elinor Dashwood’s world. The film, directed by Georgia Oakley, opened in UK theaters on Sept. 25 and lands stateside Oct. 16.
Edgar-Jones began the tour in custom Vivienne Westwood, a champagne silk dress with an asymmetrical hem, corseted bodice and gathered train. She paired it with metallic Aquazzura sandals, loosely undone hair, and antique Boucheron pieces: a velvet choker with an 1877 locket pendant and a matching cameo pinkie ring from the same year.

The “Normal People” star later turned angelic in Ireland, slipping into a white bias-cut Stella McCartney gown with feathered sleeves and Boucheron pearl earrings. For Germany, she raided the Giorgio Armani archives for a slinky silver 2005 gown with beaded, tasseled sleeves from the house’s private collection, finishing it with custom Jimmy Choo heels and more Boucheron diamonds.
Down Under, Edgar-Jones wore a whisper-light custom Miu Miu gown with a beaded corseted bodice and fully sheer skirt. The day before, at a photo call, she posed in a white Alaïa turtleneck dress with a tiered ruffled skirt and the brand’s sheer mesh pumps priced at $1,450.

The Los Angeles premiere brought what Michelle called the tour’s defining moment. Edgar-Jones wore an archival 1999 Chloé look by Stella McCartney, sourced by Raffe Vintage, combining an ivory silk corset and sheer floral-embroidered cape with a lavender silk skirt.
“Daisy always said she wanted to wear lavender to honor Elinor’s costumes, and having our final red carpet in this moment was everything,” Michelle wrote on Instagram. She added that the look had sat at the center of her mood board since she began planning the press tour.

For the after-party, Edgar-Jones changed into a corseted micro-mini-dress by Dilara Findikoglu.

The actress has served as a Boucheron ambassador throughout the tour, dipping repeatedly into the French jeweler’s vaults. Michelle’s Instagram posts have tracked each appearance, offering behind-the-scenes context for the archival and custom pieces.

Edgar-Jones plays the restrained eldest Dashwood sister in Oakley’s adaptation of the Jane Austen classic, a role that demands the same emotional control the actress displayed in her breakout turn as Marianne Sheridan in “Normal People.” The new film reteams her with a period setting, though this time in Regency England rather than contemporary rural Ireland.
The tour spanned three continents over roughly a month, with each look calibrated to the specific venue and its connection to the film’s promotional arc. Michelle’s Vogue UK interview marked a rare on-the-record breakdown of the stylist’s process, which typically stays behind the scenes.

The archival Stella McCartney Chloé piece closed the loop on a tour that began with Westwood’s corseted construction and moved through Armani’s silver glamour, Miu Miu’s sheer delicacy, and McCartney’s feathered romanticism. Edgar-Jones’ own input on the lavender choice for the finale surfaced in Michelle’s Instagram caption as a detail the actress had requested from the start.
Edgar-Jones’ stateside arrival for the Oct. 16 release will bring the tour to its commercial endpoint, though the red carpet looks have already circulated widely across fashion and film coverage.
