Prescott said, “That was very unfortunate, unfortunate for me, but somebody who’s been in it and knows how to whatever to the media more to me and fortunate for her, but it’s kind of life we live in.”

He added, “Yeah, it was an unfortunate situation for obviously everybody. More importantly, the kids. And so for me, it’s just about making sure I’m there in every which way for them.”

When asked about the public nature of the breakup, Prescott told reporters, “Yeah, I mean, I don’t necessarily think it was public to me. Once again, I believe what you take in, what you read, what you look up, you’re doing that to yourself.”

During an earlier interview about how he’s holding up personally, Prescott said, “I’m great, I’m blessed. As I said, I’m a follower of Christ. And, you know, just having the faith that I do, it’s always been something, a superpower in a sense, that I’ve had is my faith. So, it won’t change. I won’t even say it gets shaken just because things happen, things don’t necessarily go my way or the way that I thought they would, doesn’t necessarily affect the way that I wake up each morning. I’m grateful my feet hit the ground. I’m grateful to breathe the air that I do and to be where I’m at.”

The quarterback’s public remarks came after months of conflicting accounts about what caused the sudden engagement cancellation.

Page Six reports Dak Prescott’s fiancée Sarah Jane Ramos called off their wedding after discovering “ongoing infidelity issues.” After finally confronting Prescott, Ramos reportedly made the decision to call off the wedding and the pair sent a joint email to hundreds of wedding guests revealing the news.

Ramos reportedly learned “Prescott was allegedly using incognito social media profiles to send inappropriate messages to multiple women and ex-flings,” according to reports.

However, a very different account emerged from Ramos’s representatives.

A representative for Ramos told People that Ramos and Prescott are “both heartbroken that they’re not getting married.” Despite previous reports, the rep added, “There wasn’t any rockiness in the lead up, and there was no big argument or blow up. It was a mutual decision.”

Ramos’ rep continued, “They love their girls, and they’re committed to raising their children together in the most loving and positive way.”

Ramos herself weighed in on the speculation surrounding the breakup.

On Instagram, Ramos wrote, “This had nothing to do with a prenup. I hope we can put that rumor to rest now.”

The split came down suddenly despite what appeared to be a happy couple.

In the viral moment that sparked the breakup,
on Thursday, March 5, the wine specialist shared an Instagram carousel of photos from her bachelorette party weekend in the Bahamas. “I truly believe you can get through anything in life as long as you have really great friends. I love these girls so much,” Ramos captioned the series of pictures.
Just two days later,
TMZ was the first to report the news of their split on Saturday, March 7.

During a recent joint bachelor-bachelorette party in the Bahamas, Ramos and Prescott stayed behind after their friends left, and that’s when she reportedly found out the NFL star was allegedly using “incognito” social media profiles to send “inappropriate messages to multiple women and ex-flings.”

Ramos is “done” with Prescott and the 32-year-old quarterback is focused on co-parenting the couple’s two young children.

The couple announced the cancellation through a joint email to guests.

“As many of you know, our wedding is currently scheduled to take place in Lake Como, Italy, on Friday April 10. It is with heavy hearts that we privately inform our attendees that we have made the very difficult decision to cancel our wedding. We deeply apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you and we welcome your prayers,” the note signed by both read.

Since the split, Ramos has moved forward publicly.

On Tuesday, March 24, the mom of two shared an Instagram Stories post she snapped alongside a friend while at the gym. “Growth in all forms,” Ramos wrote in overlaying text.

Ramos’ attorney, Raymond Rafool, added that she is happy that it appears the two will be able to successfully coparent. “Sarah Jane is very happy that she and Dak are able to make decisions for the parties’ girls and their family on their own,” he told Page Six. “She firmly believes that working together as parents is very important and will have long-term benefits for the girls.”

In April, Prescott and Ramos reached a temporary custody agreement for their daughters outside of court after initially filing legal paperwork in Texas. Prescott’s attorney described the agreement as “a positive step forward,” while Ramos’ attorney said both sides were focused on “the best interests and welfare” of the children.

Prescott’s next game will be the Cowboys’ 2026 season opener.
