In an attempt to secure a cash prize, an Australian father-daughter pair went to unusual lengths by kissing each other live on a radio show.
In 2020, the KIIS 106.5 radio show hosted by Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson featured a segment called ‘Boyfriend or Daddy’.
This controversial game featured a female guest and a male companion who would enter the studio together.
The challenge for the hosts was to guess if the two were a father-daughter pair or a couple.
If the hosts guessed incorrectly, the guests would receive a cash prize of AU $1,000 (US $661).
In one instance, 26-year-old Stacey and 49-year-old Nick participated in the show.
The pair, claiming to be in a romantic relationship, kissed on the lips upon entering the studio and faced a round of questions from the hosts, according to the Standard.
“I have a thing for older guys,” Stacey said. “My dad told me to go find a nice Greek boy, ‘cause I’m a little bit Greek, so I did.
“They weren’t too impressed at the beginning, but he’s come around. They seem to go fishing and stuff together now.”
In an effort to uncover the truth, Henderson posed several awkward questions to Stacey and Nick, including inquiries about their intimate lives.
“With your boyfriend, what is your favourite sexual position in the bedroom?” Henderson asked.
Hoping to catch them off guard, the host was surprised when Stacey confidently stated her preference for being on top, explaining: “I’m a little bit smaller than him so I kind of don’t like to be smothered, so being on top is definitely the way to go with us.”
Nick was also questioned about Stacey’s preferences, to which he replied: “It took a while to get me to come around that way, both giving and receiving.”
Despite the probing questions, the hosts remained uncertain about the duo’s claims, prompting Henderson to suggest one final test.
“There’s only one way to decide this. Would you guys be willing to give each other just a little kiss on the lips? This is your boyfriend or your dad? So feel free to kiss as much as you want,” Henderson said.
Instead of a simple kiss, the pair engaged in a full make-out session, leaving host Sandilands stunned.
“It has to be a boyfriend,” Sandilands exclaimed.
“It can’t be the father, no one kisses their father like that… unless you live in the mountains and have no neighbours.”
However, the truth was revealed when Stacey confessed that Nick was not her boyfriend, but her father.
“The things we do for money – this is actually my father!” Stacey confessed.
She added: “My boyfriend’s going to be mortified”.
Listeners expressed their shock and disapproval of the act, with comments like “This is so, so wrong on so many levels,” according to The Mirror.
Another listener added, “Nope no amount of money is worth tarnishing the pure innocent love between father and daughter in my eyes. This can never be undone.”
Ultimately, the duo won the AU $1,000 prize, but the incident left a lasting impression on listeners.
