The medical definition of a micropenis has been clarified.
The term may be commonly used to describe someone with a notably small member, but in the medical community, a micropenis has a specific definition.
This condition is quite uncommon, affecting approximately 0.6 percent of the population worldwide. In the United States, the typical penis length is about 5.6 inches when erect, per data from World Population Review, positioning it in the median range of global penis sizes.

Moreover, beyond a certain size, a large member might become uncomfortable or even painful for a partner, which is far from ideal.
In contrast, a micropenis is medically defined as being 3.67 inches or shorter.
According to Cleveland Clinic, a micropenis can result from fetal testosterone deficiency, where there is insufficient testosterone production during pregnancy. If detected in infancy, it can be treated with hormonal therapy to aid in developing a more typical size.
This was not the case for Michael Phillips, who claims to have the smallest penis and fits the medical definition of this rare condition.
During an interview with IGV Official, he stated: “I’m still not sure that I have yet fully come to terms with having a micropenis.”
Michael, 36, from North Carolina, shared that dating has been a significant hurdle.
He explained, “The biggest challenges I’ve faced [are] having a sexual relationship and still being a virgin and being able to talk about it openly because of how embarrassing of a topic it is.”
Speaking to The Sun, he revealed: “I have had a couple experiences of having sex and wasn’t able to get it in and everything.
“From there I just stopped trying to date and lost interest in it.”
Michael is now focused on raising awareness about the condition, stating: “You can choose to be happy just being here in this great world we live in.
“Find people you are confident in sharing your problem with, and they might surprise you with how understanding and accepting they are.”
