The female journalist whom Donald Trump referred to as ‘piggy’ has been identified as Bloomberg reporter Catherine Lucey.
The former US president has a history of making disparaging remarks about women, including those who are political opponents, contestants on The Apprentice, and even his own daughter.
Despite this, the 79-year-old recently gained widespread attention once again for his latest derogatory comments, made while he was boarding Air Force One on Friday (November 14).
Journalists were gathered to question Trump as he was departing for his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.
Earlier in the week, Trump had been mentioned in emails related to convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
The emails, released by Democrats on the House Oversight Committee, included Trump in correspondence between Epstein, his then-girlfriend and convicted trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell, and author Michael Wolff.

In one of the three released emails, Epstein appeared to refer to Trump as ‘that dog that does not bark,’ before claiming a victim ‘spent hours at my house with him.’
Trump has denied any misconduct, while the White House criticized the Democrats for ‘selectively’ leaking emails to ‘create a fake narrative to smear President Trump.’
Following this, the House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly to release the Epstein files.
Amidst these developments, Bloomberg’s Lucey questioned Trump about the possibility of anything ‘incriminating’ in the Epstein emails, a question that Trump did not appreciate.
Pointing at her, he retorted: “Quiet! Quiet, piggy!”
Lucey was off-camera during the incident and has not since publicly commented on the remark.
A Bloomberg News spokesperson told the Guardian: “Our White House journalists perform a vital public service, asking questions without fear or favor.
“We remain focused on reporting issues of public interest fairly and accurately.”

Lucey is a White House reporter for Bloomberg News, based in Washington, D.C.
Since joining the organization nine months ago, she has covered a broad range of topics, including trade and economic policy, foreign affairs, and the global impact of US government actions.
With nearly 25 years of journalism experience, she has spent nine of those years covering the White House at the Associated Press (AP) and The Wall Street Journal.
She began her career as an editorial assistant at the Associated Press (AP), then held reporting positions at The Philadelphia Daily News before returning to the AP.
Lucey earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania, studying there from 1997 to 2001.
Lucey encountered another tense moment with Trump over the weekend when she inquired about an interview political commentator Tucker Carlson conducted with right-wing nationalist Nick Fuentes.
“You are the worst! You’re with Bloomberg, right? You are the worst!” Trump exclaimed, adding: “I don’t know why they even have you.”
It appears Lucey was simply performing her duties as a journalist…
