Happy birthday to Dick Van Dyke! The iconic actor is marking his 100th birthday this Saturday, December 13, with no intentions of slowing down.
Born in 1925, he has experienced wars and remarkable technological advancements, while establishing himself as a Hollywood icon through his exceptional performances.
With starring roles in classics like Mary Poppins, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and The Dick Van Dyke Show, the centenarian remains one of the most recognized figures in the entertainment industry.
Despite reaching the significant milestone of turning 100, Van Dyke has expressed his desire to continue living actively, sharing insights into his long and healthy life.

“100 years is not enough. You want to live more,” Van Dyke expressed on Good Morning America. “I don’t know any other 100-year-olds, but I can speak for myself. I’ve got one game leg from, I don’t know what… I still try to dance.”
The veteran actor added: “The funny thing is, it’s not enough. 100 years is not enough. You want to live more, which I plan to.”
To celebrate his milestone birthday, Van Dyke released his new book, 100 Rules for Living to 100, which shares his longevity secrets.
He attributes his vitality to his wife, Arlene Silver, 54, who has brought a renewed sense of life to him.
“Arlene is half my age, and she makes me feel somewhere between two-thirds and three-quarters my age, which is still saying a lot,” he disclosed in his book.
“Every day she finds a new way to keep me up and moving, bright and hopeful and needed.”

Silver, speaking to Good Morning America, described it as a ‘privilege’ to be with Van Dyke.
“It’s like a privilege and an honour to take care of him and make him happy,” she mentioned.
The star of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang recently appeared on Today to talk about his new book and his journey to 100, revealing one of his secrets to longevity.
“Singing is the best thing you can do for yourself,” Van Dyke shared. “Usually I wake up with an old tune going through my head.”
His remarkable career has earned him several accolades, including a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1993.
Additionally, he was inducted into the Television Hall Of Fame in 1995.
