Disney announces Jimmy Kimmel show’s return following removal over Charlie Kirk remarks

Disney has announced that Jimmy Kimmel will make a comeback to television after being temporarily removed following his remarks about Charlie Kirk’s death.

During the opening monologue of the September 15 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, the 57-year-old host commented on Kirk’s murder.

Kimmel stated, according to NBC News: “We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them, and doing everything they can to score political points from it.”

The Walt Disney Company issued a statement explaining their actions: “Last Wednesday, we made the decision to suspend production on the show to avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for our country.”

The statement continued: “It is a decision we made because we felt some of the comments were ill-timed and thus insensitive.”

They concluded by saying, “We have spent the last days having thoughtful conversations with Jimmy, and after those conversations, we reached the decision to return the show on Tuesday.”

Additional details to come.
