Disney enthusiasts have recently uncovered who Nala’s father might be in The Lion King.
While there are countless movie theories swirling on the internet, this particular one seems quite plausible.
Disney is known for hiding clever Easter eggs within its films for attentive viewers to discover.
For instance, I’m still surprised after the director of Frozen disclosed the identity of Anna and Elsa’s secret brother.
Moreover, some have identified Andy’s mom from Toy Story as the star of another popular franchise. Others suggest the film is related to A Bug’s Life, Turning Red, and Monster’s Inc.
However, one viewer believes he has uncovered the true identity of Nala’s father in the 1994 animated classic.
Ivan Mars, who calls himself a ‘movie detective,’ shared his theory on social media, backed by evidence from the original film.
“We know Simba is the offspring of Mufasa and Sarabi, and by the film’s end, he falls for Nala, his childhood companion,” Ivan starts. “But hold on, it’s clear that Nala’s mother is Sarafina. This led me to ponder, who could her father be…”
He elaborates on his findings, stating: “Experts on animal behavior note that in every pride, there are typically two male lions mating with the female lions of that pride…
“Since the only male lions in the Pride Lands are Mufasa and Scar, this suggests Nala is actually Scar’s daughter!”
Initially, I wasn’t entirely convinced by this theory.
@its_ivanmars How did I miss this?! 🤯🤯🤯 #lionking #disney #lion #fyp #movie #foryoupage #simba
But Ivan persists: “It’s even more plausible when you notice they are the only lions with green and yellow eyes…How did I overlook this?”
This eye color detail is just the type of subtle hint Disney might use for their sharpest viewers to notice…
However, not everyone is as astonished as I am.
In response to Ivan’s Facebook reel, someone argued: “Incorrect. Scar was an outcast, thus not part of the tribe.”
Another pointed out: “Nala literally has yellow and BLUE eyes … just like her mother.”
Some speculate her father is actually Mufasa, not Scar, with one person suggesting: “Nala and Simba are actually half-siblings…Which is completely normal in the animal world.”
Interestingly, last year’s Mufasa movie revealed that he was adopted into the Pride Land after being orphaned, indicating Scar is not his biological brother.
Still, this leaves room for Nala to possibly be Scar’s daughter, doesn’t it? I’d like to think so…
