Newly released Epstein files have unveiled photographs of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly Prince Andrew, in a controversial pose beside a woman.
In October of last year, Andrew stepped back from his royal duties amid mounting scrutiny over his ties to Jeffrey Epstein and claims made by Virginia Giuffre in her latest memoir.
In a statement from that time, Andrew expressed, “In discussion with The King, and my immediate and wider family, we have concluded the continued accusations about me distract from the work of His Majesty and the Royal Family.
“I have decided, as I always have, to put my duty to my family and country first. I stand by my decision five years ago to stand back from public life.”
Giuffre has claimed she was coerced into sexual encounters with the former prince on three occasions, allegations Andrew has consistently denied.
Andrew’s involvement is resurfacing in a fresh set of Epstein files, which reveal emails between him and Epstein. In one such email from September 2010, Andrew extended an invitation to Epstein to visit Buckingham Palace. This invite was issued a month post-Epstein’s release from house arrest and two years subsequent to his guilty plea for soliciting a minor.
“Delighted for you to come here to BP,” Andrew wrote to Epstein. “Come with whomever, and I’ll be here free from 1600ish to 2000.” To which Epstein replied: “See you at 4.”
The recent files also feature photographs of Andrew kneeling over an unidentified woman on the floor. In another image, he appears to be touching the woman’s stomach while looking away from the camera.
The origins of these photographs, including when they were taken, remain unclear, as noted by Sky News.
Documents also allude to Epstein planning a meeting for Andrew with a 26-year-old Russian woman.
Upon setting up this meeting, Andrew reportedly queried Epstein: “Great. Any other information you might know about her that might be useful to know? Like what have you told her about me and have you given her my email as well?”
Epstein replied with, “She 26, russian, clevere beautiful, trustworthy and yes she has your email,” prompting Andrew to respond: “That was quick! How are you? Good to be free?”
