Dolly Parton’s sister, Freida, has reached out to fans to provide some reassurance after staying up ‘all night’ praying for the beloved singer’s well-being.
Recently, Dolly Parton announced that she would be postponing her December Las Vegas residency due to health concerns.
The iconic singer was originally scheduled to perform six shows at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace from December 4 to December 13.
The 79-year-old has now rescheduled the performances for September 2026.
On Tuesday, October 7, Freida took to Facebook to express her belief in the ‘power of prayer,’ mentioning that Dolly ‘hasn’t been feeling her best lately.’
“Last night, I was up all night praying for my sister, Dolly,” the 68-year-old musician wrote.
“Many of you know she hasn’t been feeling her best lately. I truly believe in the power of prayer, and I have been led to ask all of the world that loves her to be prayer warriors and pray with me.”
She added: “She’s strong, she’s loved, and with all the prayers being lifted for her, I know in my heart she’s going to be just fine. Godspeed, my sissy Dolly. We all love you!”
This naturally raised concerns among fans, as one remarked: “Dolly is a strong woman. Her life is very much private. You know it is dire when family start asking for prayers.”
Five hours later, Freida returned to Facebook to provide clarity on the situation.
“I want to clear something up. I didn’t mean to scare anyone or make it sound so serious when asking for prayers for Dolly,” she wrote.
“She’s been a little under the weather, and I simply asked for prayers because I believe so strongly in the power of prayer. It was nothing more than a little sister asking for prayers for her big sister. Thank you all for lifting her up. Your love truly makes a difference.”
