Donald Trump discusses Trump Jr.’s potential presidential run and outlines his children’s political ambitions

Donald Trump has commented on the possibility of his son, Donald Trump Jr., making a bid for the presidency.

In the previous presidential campaign, Trump Jr. was a strong advocate for his father’s reelection and reportedly pushed for JD Vance to be selected as Vice President.

Trump Jr. is the host of a podcast called Triggered with Don Jr., where he discusses a range of political topics.

The question remains whether the son of the 45th and 47th U.S. president, whom he had with his late ex-wife Ivana, might pursue a future as president.

During a conversation on the Pod Force One podcast with New York Post journalist Miranda Devine, Trump was queried about the possibility of Trump Jr. running for president.

“I don’t know. I mean I don’t know. I think all of them probably have a future in politics, frankly. And Don is very good. A good guy. He’s an outdoorsman,” Trump remarked.

His hesitation to confirm a definite ‘yes’ might stem from Trump Jr.’s own statements on his X account, where he mentioned that although he wouldn’t completely dismiss it, he has “ZERO interest in running for office in [20]28 or anytime soon.”

Instead, President Trump proposed that his children might all have political potential, noting in the interview that they ‘were born very smart,’ which was released on June 11.

He continued: “Eric has done a fantastic job. Barron is great. He is very tall and good. Ivanka, you know Ivanka? She’s so great. And Tiffany has done really well. She went to a great law school and did very well. Always a good student.”

Barron Trump, now 19, has drawn significant attention since enrolling at New York University’s Stern School of Business, partly due to his height of 6ft 7in.

Talking about Barron, whom he shares with First Lady Melania Trump, the president expressed to Fox News in March: “If you look at my kids, all of my kids, they’ve been very good, they’ve been very smart.

“They love our country and they’re proud of their father.”

When asked about Barron’s standout talents, Trump mentioned his impressive abilities in technology.

Recalling an incident, Trump shared: “I turn off his laptop, I said, ‘Oh good,’ and I go back five minutes later, he’s got his laptop. I said, ‘How’d you do that?’

“‘None of your business, Dad’.

“He’s got an unbelievable aptitude in technology.”
