President Donald Trump has addressed the rumors surrounding his alleged death after speculation began circulating online.
The 79-year-old’s health has been a topic of public interest since he returned to the Oval Office in January. Trump has consistently criticized his predecessor, focusing on what he described as concerns over Joe Biden’s “competency and age” during the election campaign last year.
Trump referred to Biden, who was 78 when he took office, as “Sleepy Joe.” By the end of Biden’s term, he was 82. Trump himself set a record as the oldest presidential candidate to be inaugurated in US history and will be 156 days older than Biden was at the end of his term when his own four years conclude.
The rumors about Trump’s death spread rapidly, with thousands believing the Republican president had passed away. Trump has since addressed these rumors.
Now, let’s look at how these rumors began.
Remarkably, the speculation arose because Trump hadn’t been seen in public for two days. This absence led to online conjecture, considering that he is typically visible in public on a daily basis.
Although Trump had no public events planned for Saturday, August 30, when the rumors began, people quickly jumped to the conclusion that he had died, rather than simply assuming he was taking a day off.
Using Truth Social, Trump dismissed the rumors of his death, even though there was no need for him to do so. He was photographed on the South Lawn with his granddaughter, Kai Trump, on that very day as they prepared to visit the Trump National golf course in Sterling, Virginia.
“NEVER FELT BETTER IN MY LIFE. Also, DC IS A CRIME FREE ZONE! President DJT,” he posted.
This was in response to a MAGA supporter who wrote on the platform: “Joe Biden would go multiple days at a time without any public appearances and the media would say he’s ‘sharp’ and ‘top of his game’. Meanwhile he was wearing diapers and napping.
“President Trump puts in more public work hours than any other POTUS in US history and media freaks out if he disappears for 24 hours. Comical double standard.”
It is worth noting that Biden did not wear diapers while in office.
