Donald Trump teases political future for Jake Paul and offers his ‘total endorsement’

Donald Trump has hinted at an unexpected next step for influencer-turned-boxer Jake Paul, suggesting he could soon make a move into politics.

The former president made the comment while speaking at a rally in Kentucky, with Paul in the crowd. The remarks come only months after Paul’s major boxing defeat against Anthony Joshua in December.

While appearing at Verst Logistics in Hebron, Trump surprised attendees by bringing up Paul’s potential political ambitions, before calling him up to the stage in front of the audience.

“I’m going to make a prediction that you will be, in the not-too-distant future, running for political office,” Trump said, without clarifying whether he meant a local position, a national seat, or something even higher.

He then made clear he’d back Paul if he chose to pursue the idea, adding: “You have my complete and total endorsement.”

The crowd responded with loud applause as Paul was brought up shortly after Trump referenced him during the speech. “I didn’t ask Jake who he voted for, but I don’t think it was Kamala,” Trump added, referring to Vice President Kamala Harris.

“I think your whole reputation would be shot if he said ‘Oh, I voted for Kamala.’ That would be the end of your whole career, Jake.”

Trump also praised Paul’s other projects, including his show BS w/ Jake Paul, and mentioned he’d been invited to appear on it.

“His podcast is big stuff and he’s big stuff,” Trump said. “This guy has guts.”

After being introduced, Paul addressed the audience and credited Trump with influencing his mindset, saying: “What Mr. Trump has taught me is courage,” Paul said.

“We never back down from a fight, even if they’re much bigger than you, much, much bigger than you.”

Paul also spoke about his upbringing and how it shaped his willingness to speak out, adding: “My dad taught me to fight and all of our voices matter in America.I’m never afraid to speak the truth.”

Paul’s supportive comments aren’t the first time he’s inserted himself into politics. The former Disney Channel star previously made his backing for Trump widely known during the 2024 campaign period.

He also posted an endorsement of Trump to his YouTube channel, while urging viewers to do their own research on political issues before forming opinions.
