Donatella Versace is launching an independent beauty and fashion brand with Revolve Group next year.
The Italian designer, 71, announced the partnership Monday and will serve as chief creative officer of the yet-to-be-named label, with beauty products expected to debut first. The venture marks her return to the industry roughly 18 months after she exited the house her late brother Gianni founded, where she had led creative direction for nearly three decades.

“I believe creativity should be fearless, inclusive and alive in the world,” Donatella said in a statement. “This partnership gives me the freedom to speak to that generation in a completely new and personal way, through beauty and fashion.”
She signaled her enthusiasm directly on Revolve’s Instagram announcement, commenting “💜✨💥 let’s go 💥✨💜.”
The new label will operate under a different name and distribute across the US, Latin America, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East. How this squares with reported contractual restrictions from her Versace exit remains unclear. Industry sources had previously said that her deal with then-owner Capri Holdings barred her from using the Versace name elsewhere or designing apparel for other labels.
Michael Mente, who co-founded Revolve Group in 2003 with Mike Karanikolas, praised the collaboration in the press release. “Donatella is one of the defining creative voices of our time,” Mente said. “This partnership gives that vision an entirely new platform and the freedom to build something from the ground up.”

The Los Angeles-based e-commerce company generated $1.23 billion in revenue last year and has previously partnered with rapper Cardi B and influencer Sofia Richie Grainge on joint ventures. The new Donatella project is pitched as “a digital-first world people can participate in, not simply buy from,” integrating content, experiences and commerce.
“Revolve understands something I believe deeply: culture comes from connection,” Versace said in her statement. “Together, we want to create that connection with a new voice, a new look and a new energy.”
Since Donatella’s March 2025 departure, the Versace house has cycled through creative leadership quickly. Dario Vitale, a Miu Miu veteran whom she had recommended as successor, lasted only a single season before Pieter Mulier of Alaïa was appointed to the role. Prada Group acquired the label in December 2025, returning it to Italian ownership.

The new venture’s full creative vision and official name will be revealed in coming months.
