Dubai Royalty Announces Engagement to Rapper French Montana After Instagram Divorce

The princess of Dubai is reportedly engaged to the rapper French Montana following a dramatic year, which began with her public announcement of wanting a divorce from her husband.

Princess Sheikha Mahra Mohammed Rashed Al Maktoum, daughter of Dubai’s ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, is said to be engaged to Moroccan American rapper, French Montana, as reported by TMZ.

The princess used Instagram last year to reveal her intention to divorce her husband, Sheikh Mana bin Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mana Al Maktoum. They were married in April 2023 and later welcomed a daughter together.

Signs of discord in their marriage surfaced when Sheikha Mahra publicly declared her wish to part ways using social media.

In a now-deleted Instagram post, she stated, “Dear Husband. As you are occupied with other companions, I hereby declare our divorce. I divorce you, I divorce you, I divorce you.”

She concluded with: “Take care. Your ex-wife.”

This message seemed to reference the practice of triple talaq, a form of divorce that involves declaring the intention to divorce three times, which is now banned in the UAE.

A month after the initial announcement, she seemed to reaffirm the split by posting a photo of herself with her daughter, captioned: “Just the two of us.”

A spokesperson for Montana, whose real name is Karim Kharbouch, confirmed the engagement took place in June 2025 during Paris Fashion Week.

This event also marked the 40-year-old rapper’s debut on the runway for 3. Paradis’ Ready-to-Wear Spring/Summer 2026 show.

Details about their relationship prior to the engagement are sparse, though the rapper was first associated with the princess in October 2024 when she reportedly gave him a tour of Dubai.

Recently, the princess launched a new line of perfumes titled ‘Divorce’.

The 31-year-old’s mother, Zoe Grigorakos, is a Greek socialite, and her birth name was Christina before she adopted an Arabic name after relocating to the UAE.

Her social media highlights her involvement in national initiatives, especially in philanthropy, fashion, and equestrian pursuits.

She is also an advocate for women’s health, sharing her visits to the gynecologist to emphasize early prevention.

She posted, “Health is beauty. Today, Dr. Fadi and I discussed the importance of yearly check-ups with your gynecologist. An ounce of prevention is worth more than a pound of cure. Protecting yourself, know your body, stay empowered.”

Her Instagram account provides a glimpse into her life, work, and education.

According to her Instagram, the princess earned a degree in international relations in London.

Following her studies, she stepped into the business world and launched her fragrance line, Mahra M1.

French Montana’s representatives were contacted for comment.
