Faizon Love, the actor and comedian known for roles in Friday and Elf, was arrested in Florida and is being held without bond, according to county jail records.
Love, 58, was taken into custody in Tampa on Tuesday, June 16. The performer is widely recognized for playing Big Worm in the 1995 comedy Friday, as well as the toy store manager in the holiday favorite Elf.
Booking information from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office shows the California actor was booked into Orient Road Jail, reports EW.
Records list Love, whose legal name is Langston Faizon Santisima, as being held on two contempt of court charges.

Authorities have not publicly outlined the full circumstances behind the court-related charges. However, People reports that the arrest is linked to an ongoing domestic relations and paternity case.
According to PEOPLE, a woman named Tiffany Lee, who is said to be the mother of Love’s child, reopened a paternity and child support matter involving the actor on June 11.
The two contempt counts are reportedly connected to Love allegedly missing a required court appearance and unresolved support obligations.
By Thursday morning, no public comment had been issued by Love’s representatives, and jail records continued to show no bond.
This arrest is the latest legal issue involving the comedian in recent years.

In August 2024, Love drew attention after an incident at a hotel in San Diego. He was accused of pulling a credit card reader from its stand and throwing it at a clerk after staff told him there were no available rooms.
He later entered a not guilty plea in that case, which moved into court proceedings earlier this year.
Before that, Love pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor assault charge tied to a 2017 confrontation with a valet at John Glenn Columbus International Airport in Ohio. He received a suspended jail sentence.
Even with those legal troubles, Love remains a familiar face in film and television. Over a career spanning more than 40 years, he has appeared in projects including The Replacements, Couples Retreat, and The Parent ‘Hood.
