Elon Musk explains his ‘reconciliation’ with Trump at Charlie Kirk tribute

Elon Musk provided a concise response when asked about his apparent reconciliation with Donald Trump at Charlie Kirk’s memorial.

The event, attended by thousands, took place at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, as people gathered to honor the memory of the Conservative political activist who was tragically killed on September 10.

Charlie Kirk was speaking at an event for his non-profit organization, Turning Point USA, at Utah Valley University when he was fatally shot in front of approximately 3,000 attendees.

Tyler Robinson, aged 22, is facing several charges related to the incident, including aggravated murder.

Despite the recent tension in their relationship, both US President Trump and tech mogul Elon Musk managed to set aside their differences to attend Kirk’s memorial.

During the event on Sunday (September 21), the two were observed sitting together, engaged in a seemingly friendly conversation.

A lip reader noted a cordial exchange between Musk and Trump.

Musk later took to his social media platform X to acknowledge their meeting.

Sharing a photo of himself in conversation with Trump, Musk indicated the reason for their reconciliation with the words: “For Charlie.”

In a subsequent post, he shared a tweet from Fox News, highlighting Erika Kirk’s act of forgiving the man accused of her husband’s murder.

The post quoted her saying, “I forgive him because it was what Christ did. And is what Charlie would do.”

In another post, Musk added: “Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.”

After the memorial, Trump spoke to the media about his interaction with Musk.

He mentioned, “Elon came over and said hello. I thought it was nice he came up and had a little conversation. We had a very good relationship. But it was nice that he came down.”

Earlier this year, Musk and Trump had a public disagreement over various significant matters.

Initially appointed as the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) during Trump’s inauguration, Musk resigned from the role in May due to concerning financial outcomes for Tesla.

Their discord extended to Trump’s ‘One Big Beautiful Bill’, with Musk expressing concerns about its potential to increase the national debt and burden taxpayers.

Trump retaliated by labeling Musk a ‘bulls*** artist’ and hinting that the billionaire should consider returning to his native country.

Musk also commented on alleged information linking Trump to Jeffrey Epstein, though Trump denies any knowledge of Epstein’s criminal activities.

During his campaign, Trump had vowed to release certain Epstein-related documents, which he later claimed did not exist.

In the aftermath of Musk’s comments, Trump hinted at reviewing Musk’s government contracts, while Musk considered forming a new political entity, the America Party.

Nonetheless, their presence together at Kirk’s memorial suggests a possible thaw in their relationship.
