Elon Musk is dealing with fresh accusations. According to the Wall Street Journal, in December of last year, the 51-year-old CEO and richest man in the world of Tesla allegedly had an affair with Nicole Shanahan, the wife of his wealthy buddy and Google co-founder Sergey Brin.
The story claims that their divorce was sparked by the affair as well.
According to friends, Elon’s relationship with Nicole was the reason Sergey filed for divorce in January.
The “brief affair,” according to the Wall Street Journal, ruined their close friendship last fall. The alleged affair took place in the same month that Elon welcomed a daughter through surrogacy with his ex-girlfriend Grimes, and one month after he secretly welcomed twins with former Tesla executive Shivon Zilis.
In his divorce proceedings at the time, Sergey referred to “irreconcilable issues.” He requested joint custody of their daughter, who was born in 2018, as part of the divorce settlement. Elon hasn’t yet offered a response to the allegations.
With $89.9 billion in wealth, Sergey is presently the tenth richest person in the world. Elon is still number one with $253.4 billion.
