Elon Musk has addressed reports after allegedly being included in the Epstein files alongside Prince Andrew.
The billionaire criticized a report for suggesting his name is connected to the deceased convicted sex offender, calling it ‘misleading.’
In the most recent release of Epstein files by Democrats on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee on September 26, Musk’s name surfaced in the financier’s purported ‘daily schedule’ concerning visitors to his private island, Little St James, located in the US Virgin Islands.
According to the report, Musk was listed as a potential visitor to the island on December 6, 2014, six years after Epstein was registered as a sex offender.
The entry purportedly stated: “Reminder: Elon Musk to island Dec.6 (is this still happening?)”
Musk has now responded to these allegations, criticizing the original Sky News report for its ‘utterly misleading headline.’
“Anyone pushing this false narrative deserves complete contempt,” he stated.
Musk denied ever visiting the island, referencing Prince Andrew’s alleged visits instead.
He said: “Epstein tried to get me to go to his island and I REFUSED, yet they name me even before Prince Andrew, who did visit.”
Musk also suggested that President Donald Trump would be mentioned in the files as a visitor, further accusing Trump’s administration of concealing information about the former president’s connections to Epstein.
These claims were made by Musk on Twitter but were later removed.
Prince Andrew was listed as a passenger on Epstein’s private jet, traveling from Teterboro, New Jersey, to Palm Beach, Florida, on May 12, 2000.
His name appeared in the logbook alongside Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s partner at the time, who was convicted in December 2021 for sex trafficking young girls for Epstein’s abuse over a decade. Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence.
Other names in the logbook were redacted.
Prince Andrew’s trips on Epstein’s plane to the island have been previously reported and were mentioned during Maxwell’s trial.
An alleged victim claimed she flew on the jet with the prince when she was 14.
The Duke of York has consistently denied any wrongdoing.
The documents also reveal other prominent names in Epstein’s calendar, such as a breakfast meeting with Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates on December 4, 2014, and a scheduled lunch with Peter Thiel, co-founder of PayPal, on November 27, 2017.
A breakfast with Steve Bannon, Trump’s former chief strategist, was also noted for February 16, 2019, just a few months before Epstein was arrested on charges of sex trafficking minors.
“It should be clear to every American that Jeffrey Epstein was friends with some of the most powerful and wealthiest men in the world,” Oversight Democrats spokesperson Sara Guerrero stated.
“Every new document produced provides new information as we work to bring justice for the survivors and victims.”
The committee has redacted victims’ names in the records and plans to release additional files once more names are redacted.
