Elon Musk’s daughter has alleged that he is ‘illegally keeping’ the children he has with singer Grimes, away from their mother.
Musk, 53, and Grimes, 36, were together for three years and have three children.
Following their separation, the two have been caught up in a custody dispute, the details of which are currently unclear.
They began their relationship in May 2018 and welcomed their first child, X Æ A-12, in May 2020.
In March 2022, Grimes announced that the couple had another child, a baby girl named Exa Dark Siderael, via surrogate three months prior.
“I would probably refer to him as my boyfriend, but we’re very fluid,” Grimes told Vanity Fair at the time.
“We live in separate houses. We’re best friends. We see each other all the time. … We just have our own thing going on, and I don’t expect other people to understand.”
Shortly after that interview, Grimes confirmed their breakup.
In 2023, it was revealed that they had a third child, a son named Techno Mechanicus, also via surrogate.
This week, Grimes’ mother publicly criticized Musk, alleging that he is preventing Grimes from seeing their children.
Sandy Garossino tweeted at Musk on X, stating that her mother – the children’s grandmother – ‘yearns to see and hold’ the kids ‘one last time’, and claimed she hasn’t even met one of them yet.
The children were apparently supposed to visit her in Canada, but the trip was allegedly canceled.
“She was thrilled for the kids’ planned visit to celebrate her birthday this weekend. Today. But those hopes were crushed when the trip was canceled,” Garossino said.
“I am alarmed to learn that the children cannot come as you are withholding them and their needed passport documents from Claire,” she added, referring to Grimes’ given name.
“Where are the other children, and with whom? They are scheduled to be with their mother. They were expected here in Canada.”
Garossino urged Musk to send the children back, saying: “Honour your agreement, return the children, and provide the documents they need to see their great grandmother before she passes.
“Please Elon, I beg you. This is so painful for my mother, and concerning for the kids. Time is of the essence now.”
Musk’s daughter, Vivian Jenna Wilson, has also joined the dispute, posting on Threads and accusing her father of ‘illegally keeping’ the children from Grimes.
“As you may or may not know, Grimes is currently in a custody battle with Elon over their 3 children,” she said.
“What you probably don’t know, however, is that Elon has been illegally and continuously keeping their children, her children, away from their mother during the most important developmental period in a child’s life.
“While Elon has been irresponsibly partying across the ocean in the very country he’s spitting contemptuous poison about, Grimes’ children are stuck in a house thousands of miles away without their mother.
“This is potentially irreversibly damaging to a child’s psyche and is, without question, a despicable form of abuse. This is not the first time this has happened and if nothing changes, likely not the last.”
Wilson, who is transgender, recently criticized Musk in an NBC interview, calling him ‘cold’ and ‘uncaring and narcissistic’.
This follows a recent interview with Jordan Peterson where Musk referred to his daughter’s coming out as transgender as being ‘killed by the woke mind virus.’
In 2022, Wilson filed a petition to change her name, stating she didn’t ‘wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form.’
