Elon Musk’s daughter, Vivian Wilson, criticized her father’s Mars colonization ambitions during a live stream event.
Vivian Wilson, who is Musk’s child with his first wife, Justine Wilson, voiced her disapproval of Musk’s Mars colonization plans. The 20-year-old has previously spoken extensively about her upbringing and her distant relationship with Musk.
In 2022, Wilson legally changed her name as she wished to sever any associations with her biological father.
Despite her efforts to distance herself, Musk has continued to discuss his daughter publicly. He has accused the transgender community of contributing to her estrangement, which prompted Wilson to respond.
Wilson admits uncertainty about the number of siblings she has and maintains little contact with that side of the family.
However, she remains informed about her father’s public endeavors, especially his ambitions concerning Mars.
On Hasan Piker’s live stream, she expressed skepticism about Musk’s assertions of colonizing Mars.
Musk has envisioned establishing a human presence on Mars by 2050, with plans to dispatch a humanoid robot named Optimus to the planet this year.
If successful, Musk believes humans could arrive on Mars as early as 2029.
Wilson refuted this notion, stating to viewers: “It’s not happening, people.”
She challenged the feasibility of Mars colonization and criticized it as a misleading marketing tactic.
Elsewhere in the stream, Wilson described her father’s unchanging political views since 2016, noting he was never aligned with leftist ideals.
Some speculate that Musk’s shift to the right occurred post-transition, a claim Wilson denies.
Their relationship has been strained for years, with Wilson achieving financial independence from Musk in 2020 following her transition, which Musk claims he was misled into.
Musk alleged that he was deceived into signing documents related to Wilson’s transition process, citing confusion during the COVID pandemic.
He suggested that individuals promoting gender dysphoria interventions should face legal action.
Wilson rebutted these allegations on her Threads, arguing they were fabricated due to Musk’s absence during her childhood and accused him of undermining her identity.
