Emotional Letter Gabby Petito Penned Before Her Tragic Death at the Hands of Brian Laundrie

Gabby Petito wrote a poignant letter to her boyfriend Brian Laundrie before her tragic death.

In 2021, Laundrie ended Petito’s life, and the story has resurfaced in the media due to a newly released Netflix documentary.

Named American Murder: Gabby Petito, this three-part series explores the events leading to Petito’s demise.

A section of the documentary features footage from a police bodycam in Utah, capturing the moment officers stopped the couple after reports emerged of Laundrie allegedly assaulting Petito.

Prior to the documentary’s release, the FBI made public a touching letter from Petito to Laundrie, in which she pleaded with him to cease his derogatory remarks.

In her letter, Petito wrote: “Just please stop crying and stop calling me names because we’re a team and I’m here with you. Yes, I can be a child sometimes I know, but it’s ‘cause you give me this energy and I just love you too much. Like so much it hurts.”

The letter continued: “So, you in pain is killing me. I’m not trying to be negative, but I’m frustrated there’s not more I can do.”

The series, American Murder: Gabby Petito, has sparked debate due to the inclusion of AI-generated voices simulating Petito reading her journals.

Those who watched the Netflix series described this element as ‘creepy’ and ‘uncomfortable.’

One user on Reddit expressed: “I hated it personally, I’m sure her family approved it and it may have been really meaningful to them. But if I die tragically please no one recreate my voice to make a better documentary. Creepy.”

Another viewer noted: “Yeah, made me uncomfortable. As soon as I heard it I went to reddit to see if anybody else had the same reaction haha. Netflix has been caught using AI on their true crime series in the past so I’m not really surprised, It’s just gross that they have no shame in doing this sort of thing.”

American Murder: Gabby Petito is currently available for streaming on Netflix.
