Erika Kirk responds to critics ‘mocking’ and defending Charlie’s death

Erika Kirk has issued a message to those who mocked the death of her husband, far-right activist Charlie Kirk.

Kirk was a polarizing figure known for his strong opinions on various issues such as the US Civil Rights Act, which he criticized, as well as immigration, women’s reproductive rights, LGBTQ+ rights, and gun ownership.

On September 10, 2025, Charlie Kirk was fatally shot at Utah Valley University during a session where he was addressing a question about gun violence in the United States.

Following his death, Turning Point USA, the far-right organization that Kirk helped establish, organized a significant memorial event. The event featured speeches by President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and his wife, Erika Kirk.

The reaction to Kirk’s death sparked a global debate due to his controversial views and activism.

In an interview with CBS News, Erika Kirk emotionally criticized those she accused of mocking her husband’s death.

She stated: “You’re SICK. He’s a human being. You think he deserved that? Tell that to my 3-year-old daughter…excuse me.”

Erika continued: “You wanna watch the high-res the video of my husband being murdered? And laugh? And say he deserves it?

“There’s something very sick in your soul and I pray that God saves you. I pray, because that is what is so wrong. The internet in this world has dehumanized us.”

Since her husband’s passing, Erika Kirk has taken over as CEO of Turning Point USA and committed to ‘fulfill his vision.’

The organization stated on Twitter: “We will not surrender or kneel before evil. We will carry on.

“The attempt to destroy Charlie’s work will become our chance to make it more powerful and enduring than ever before.”

Two days after the incident, authorities revealed that they had detained Tyler Robinson in connection with the shooting.

Robinson, 22, faces multiple charges, including aggravated murder and obstruction of justice.

The comprehensive charge sheet encompasses aggravated murder, felony discharge of a firearm causing serious bodily injury, obstruction of justice, two counts of witness tampering, and committing a violent act in front of a child.

Utah County Attorney Jeff Gray has stated that the prosecution will pursue the death penalty.

Gray remarked: “I do not take this decision lightly.”

Robinson is currently held in custody without the possibility of bail.
