This Heartbroken Dog Visits His Best Friend’s Grave Every Day

This heartbroken little pup is Cesar. He just lost his long-time human and best friend, 79-year-old Mehmet Ilhat.

The happy pair lived in Bursa, Turkey, and Mehmet’s son said that “because of my father’s paralysis, they had a different kind of connection.”

“When my father was in the hospital during his last days, Cesur stopped eating.”

And when Mehmet’s body arrived home, Cesur refused to leave his human’s side.

The tiny dog even led the coffin-carrying procession to the local mosque for Mehmet’s funeral.

And for the last five days since the funeral, Cesur has sat patiently on his owner’s grave.

“The people who work in the cemetery say the first thing he does in the morning is visit the grave of my father.”

Mehmet’s son is slowly trying to get Cesur to move in with him, but the adamant pup still likes to return to Mehmet’s grave.

“Cesur has always been a noble animal,” says Mehmet’s son.
