Family Feud contestant Timothy Bliefnick provided a shocking response about his wife prior to being convicted of her murder.
The incident occurred in a January 2020 episode of the daytime game show, where Bliefnick appeared before host Steve Harvey to compete for prizes.
Family Feud has often gone viral for various reasons, but Bliefnick’s answer to one of Harvey’s questions is particularly unsettling given his later life sentence for his wife’s murder.
Prepare to feel chills:
During his appearance, Harvey posed the question, “What’s the biggest mistake you made at your wedding?”
After other contestants shared their answers, Harvey turned to Bliefnick, who responded, “Honey, I love you, but ‘Said I do’.”
The audience reacted with a collective groan before Bliefnick quickly added, “Not my mistake, not my mistake – I love my wife.”
Tragically, three years later, Bliefnick’s wife, Rebecca Postle Bliefnick, was murdered during a home invasion.
In March 2023, Bliefnick was arrested on charges including home invasion and first-degree murder. His trial in May resulted in a guilty verdict and a life sentence.
Prosecutors revealed that Bliefnick had used Google to research methods for murdering his estranged wife, including breaking into a window with a crowbar and estimating police response times for such crimes.
Judge Robert Adrian, while sentencing Bliefnick, stated, as per Fox News: “Mr. Bliefnick, you researched this murder. You planned this murder. You practiced this murder. You broke into her house, and you shot her one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 times.
“I don’t know how long it took you to do that, but some of those shots were fired while she was lying on the ground and you did all of that while your children were upstairs at your house, lying snug in their beds.”
Rebecca was found dead by her father, William Postle, on the bathroom floor of her home in Quincy, Illinois, a small city near the Missouri state line.
Court records indicate that the couple, who married in 2009, were in the process of divorcing.
Rebecca, a nurse, had filed for an order of protection from her husband in 2021, according to documents filed in Adams County.
In an episode of CBS’ 48 Hours, Bliefnick reflected on his Family Feud comment, maintaining his innocence: “It wasn’t said with any malice or bad intentions. It was supposed to be funny.”
