Family of Paranormal Investigator Releases Heartfelt Statement Following His Passing During Tour with Notorious ‘Annabelle’ Doll

The family of well-known paranormal investigator Dan Rivera released a statement following his sudden passing at the age of 54 on Sunday, July 13.

Rivera passed away unexpectedly while on his ‘Devils on the Run Tour’, which featured the allegedly cursed doll, Annabelle. The tour took place in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, and was a tremendous success, with all tickets sold out.

Dan Rivera gained fame through his appearances on Travel Channel’s show, Most Haunted Places.

According to the Evening Sun, emergency services were dispatched to Rivera’s hotel shortly after he had concluded his tour event. They arrived around 8pm and attempted to resuscitate him through CPR.

Despite their best efforts, the father of four was pronounced dead at the location.

Rivera, a former member of the US army, hailed from Bridgeport, Connecticut. He also worked as a producer for other projects, including the Netflix series 28 Days Haunted.

Following confirmation of his passing by authorities, Rivera’s family shared an emotional message on Facebook.

The family’s statement read: “We as a family are in pieces as we share the news that Dan Rivera has passed away unexpectedly.

“He was the center of this family and a pillar of love and strength.

“As a devoted husband, father of four sons, and a staunchly faithful friend, he always had a quiet source of resilience, strength and endless hope. Daniel carried a light and a brave heart everyday through his life and his work.

“We are currently at a loss for words as we process his loss but are extremely thankful for the love, support and respect during this unimaginable time.”

Adams County Coroner Francis Dutrow informed the Evening Sun that an investigation is underway regarding the circumstances surrounding Rivera’s death, with the precise cause still pending.

An autopsy will be conducted to provide the family with clearer insights, although results could take several months to finalize.

The coroner’s office stated that Rivera’s death currently appears non-suspicious and that he was discovered alone in his hotel room.

At the time of his death, Rivera served as the lead investigator for the New England Society for Psychic Research (NESPR).

In a statement, NESPR expressed their devastation over his passing and admitted they are still grappling with the significant loss.

“Dan was not only a vital part of our team for over a decade, but also a deeply compassionate, loyal and dedicated friend,” the statement read.

Rivera is survived by his wife Sarah and their four children.
