Fan Climbs on Stage with Macklemore Unaware She’s Wanted by Police, Gets Arrested Instantly

A devoted fan got the opportunity of a lifetime to perform with rapper Macklemore on stage at a festival, only to be promptly taken away by the police due to an outstanding arrest warrant.

Regardless of how you view it, the incident certainly makes for a memorable story.

Imagine being on stage in front of thousands, living out a dream you had just the night before, and then finding yourself escorted away by police officers.

In a scenario that seems straight from a TV comedy, a woman was arrested right after performing with Macklemore at the Lovestream festival in Slovakia on Sunday, August 18.

The arrest had nothing to do with her onstage actions or the performance itself, but rather an outstanding warrant. The thought of what one might do on stage to get arrested immediately after is best left unimagined.

The fan was brought on stage during Macklemore’s set and later posted about the experience on her social media page.

However, this online bragging would soon backfire spectacularly.

Someone online recognized the unfortunate woman, setting off a chain of events that led to her arrest.

Police officers at the festival, held at an airport in west Slovakia, were notified by a third party who identified the woman from her social media post.

In a Facebook statement, the police mentioned: “The woman immortalized this experience and boasted about it on a social network, which did not escape the attention of an observant citizen, who at the same time follows the site of the Interior Ministry Wanted List.

“He recognized the woman and found out that he had just seen her on the above-mentioned website and informed the police immediately.”

Nevertheless, in a seemingly kind gesture, the officers allowed the woman to enjoy her moment in the spotlight before arresting her and escorting her away. That’s a small consolation, I suppose.

The police did not disclose the woman’s name but confirmed she was a 24-year-old from Bratislava.

Despite this, Slovakian media managed to find her picture on the wanted list, identifying her as a bartender accused of failing to pay a fine for running shirtless during a football match in Slovakia in 2019, where she was reportedly working as part of the staff.

At the time, it was reported she spent the weekend in custody, was banned from attending similar events, and fined 800 Euros ($890), which she allegedly failed to pay.
