Fan Who Enabled Rockstar Ian Watkins to Abuse Her Infant Issues Prison Demand

Warning: This article contains discussion of child sex abuse which some readers may find distressing

A supporter of the band Lostprophets, who allowed the former lead singer Ian Watkins to commit horrific acts of sexual abuse against her infant, has recently made a startling request from her prison cell.

The infamous pedophile Ian Watkins was killed after being attacked by fellow prisoners at HMP Wakefield, a facility near Leeds, England, on the morning of October 11. Reports indicate that the assault took place following the release of inmates from their cells. The 48-year-old was reportedly targeted by at least two individuals who attacked him, resulting in his death due to significant blood loss.

Two men, Rashid Gedel, 25, and Samuel Dodsworth, 43, have been charged with the murder of the former musician.

Watkins, who once performed alongside major bands like Metallica and Slipknot, gained notoriety in 2013 when he confessed to 13 child sex offenses, including a conspiracy to rape a baby.

Currently, one of the two fans who permitted the convicted sex offender access to her child has made a new appeal for release from incarceration.

The woman, whose identity remains undisclosed to protect her child’s privacy, was sentenced in 2013 to 17 years in prison for permitting the abuse and for allowing indecent images of her infant to be taken.

In light of Watkins’ death, she has sought to be released from prison.

A Parole Board spokesperson informed the Daily Mail: “We can confirm the parole review of (Woman B) has been referred to the Parole Board by the Secretary of State for Justice and is following standard processes.”

“Parole Board decisions are solely focused on what risk a prisoner could represent to the public if released and whether that risk is manageable in the community.”

“A panel will carefully examine a huge range of evidence, including details of the original crime, and any evidence of behaviour change, as well as explore the harm done and impact the crime has had on the victims.”

The spokesperson added: “Parole reviews are undertaken thoroughly and with extreme care. Protecting the public is our number one priority.”

In a prior evaluation, it was noted that although she behaved well in prison, she refused to engage in programs designed to help her comprehend the seriousness of her offenses.

The parole decision from November 2023 stated: “At the time of her offending, these risk factors had included experiencing low self-esteem and being prepared to offend for the approval of others.”

“She had been too easily influenced and manipulated by another person. She had felt lonely and had been unable to successfully maintain relationships. Nor had she thought sufficiently about the impact of her actions on her victim.”

In June 2021, she was released on probation after serving half her sentence. However, she was re-incarcerated in September 2022 when authorities discovered she had been dishonest about certain relationships and other matters.
