Fans are just realizing Elon Musk had a dedicated cameo scene with Tony Stark in Iron Man

Elon Musk’s appearances on screen date back further than many realize, as the billionaire made a cameo in a Marvel movie over ten years ago.

Although Elon Musk is now one of the most well-known individuals globally, this wasn’t always the case.

This may explain why many have forgotten that the tech billionaire once made a brief appearance in an MCU film.

Given the large number of MCU films, it’s understandable if you missed or forgot about the cameo, as it is quite brief.

If you were expecting to find a hidden MCU film featuring Musk joining forces with the Guardians of the Galaxy or the Avengers, you’ll be disappointed.

The scene has circulated on Twitter in the past, leaving viewers surprised at their initial failure to recognize him.

One social media user expressed astonishment, asking, “is there anything left that this man cannot do?” after seeing Musk’s speaking role.

Another added, “Wow I didn’t notice when I saw this movie.”

Need a clue about which film it is? Musk has a brief encounter with Marvel’s own billionaire playboy philanthropist.

If you haven’t guessed yet, the film is Iron Man 2, which premiered back in 2010.

Commending Musk’s cameo, one user noted, “And then he became the closest thing to the real-life version of Tony Stark.”

Another commented, “Oh, I remember that scene in Iron Man 2! It was so cool seeing Elon Musk pop up unexpectedly. It’s fascinating how our real-life innovators make their mark in pop culture. Makes you think about the intersection of fiction and reality, right?”

In the scene featuring Musk, Robert Downey Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow, playing Tony Stark and Pepper Potts respectively, are in Monaco for a Grand Prix Race.

In a lounge area, the pair encounter Musk and exchange pleasantries, with Stark saying: “Elon, how’s it going? Those Merlin engines are fantastic.”

Musk responds: “Thank you. Yeah, I’ve got an idea for an electric jet,” to which Stark replies that they will make it happen.

The Merlin Engine Stark mentions refers to the series of rocket engines developed by Musk’s company, SpaceX.

Considering Stark is portrayed as an innovative genius within the Marvel universe, responsible for numerous technological advancements, it’s logical he would know a fellow industry heavyweight like Musk.
