Most celebrities maintain highly demanding schedules, making it quite challenging to gather a large group of stars in one room.
While this is difficult, Vogue has recently shown that it isn’t impossible.
For the esteemed fashion magazine’s March 2024 cover, the publication succeeded in assembling numerous famous faces for a photoshoot.
Among the celebrities featured on the cover were Dua Lipa, Kaia Gerber, Oprah Winfrey, Kate Moss, and Victoria Beckham, just to mention a few.
In total, more than 40 A-listers were captured in the photograph, which led many to describe the cover as ‘legendary’.
This wasn’t the first instance of such a photo; a similar and even larger one was taken back in 1987, showcasing an impressive number of Hollywood icons.
Despite being over 30 years old, this photo has recently resurfaced on social media, causing a stir among film enthusiasts.
It’s believed that all the actors were present for Paramount’s 75th anniversary celebration in Los Angeles.
Posting the image on Twitter, one person challenged other social media users to identify as many stars as possible, with one user confident they had figured it out:
A particularly notable figure front and center in the photo is Top Gun star Tom Cruise, who was just 24 years old at the time and still an emerging actor.
Reflecting on Cruise’s presence, one person commented: “Cracking up that Paramount stuck a 24 year old who had only been acting for 5 years in the dead center of their huge anniversary photoshoot that included some of the biggest stars to ever live they were taking a bet there and you know what it paid off.”
Other significant stars identified include Robin Williams, Walter Matthau, Robert De Niro, Danny DeVito, The Breakfast Club’s Molly Ringwald, Matthew Broderick, Rhea Perlman, and Elizabeth Taylor, making this the 1980s counterpart to the iconic 2014 Oscars selfie.
The now-viral photo has evoked a wave of nostalgia among film fans.
One person remarked: “So many talented stars!!! Oh man, I missed that Hollywood. Been watching movies < 2000. Nostalgia."
Another wrote: “My god… such star power will never exist ever again. And we got to experience all of this.”
“A spectacular glimpse from a golden age of film and television,” added another.
Others described the photograph as ‘insane’ and ‘amazing’ due to the presence of so many Hollywood stars in such close proximity.
Here’s hoping Paramount creates a similar photo for its 115th anniversary in 2027!
