Fans Call for Emmy Consideration for Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s Role in ‘Incredible Series’ Now Streaming

Viewers are calling for Ebon Moss-Bachrach to receive an Emmy due to his outstanding performance in a critically-acclaimed series that holds an almost flawless rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

This biographical drama miniseries chronicles both the meteoric rise and catastrophic fall of an American private biotech company, which was founded in 2003 by a 19-year-old entrepreneur.

Theranos Inc managed to secure a staggering $700 million from venture capitalists by claiming it had developed an automated device capable of conducting blood tests with exceptional precision.

However, the company and its founder, Elizabeth Holmes, were exposed in 2015 when investigators and a journalist revealed the shocking reality behind their claims, leading to multiple charges for fraud and conspiracy.

The series revisits this astonishing scandal, featuring a star-studded cast that includes Amanda Seyfried, Naveen Andrews, Stephen Fry, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach.

Though “The Dropout” premiered on Hulu in March 2022, many viewers are discovering it anew, praising its gripping narrative and exceptional cast.

On Rotten Tomatoes, the series boasts an impressive 90 percent rating, with critics lauding its “darkly comedic limited series” nature and “slick execution.”

Among the talented ensemble, one actor’s performance shines particularly bright.

Moss-Bachrach takes on the role of John Carreyrou, the investigative journalist from The Wall Street Journal who played a pivotal role in uncovering the fraudulent activities of Theranos.

The journalist, a Pulitzer Prize winner, also authored the book “Bad Blood” about Elizabeth Holmes.

A viewer remarked, “Watching The Dropout and reached where Ebon Moss-Bachrach shows up. This mf is such a good actor. He’s very convincing as a reporter in this show but that’s literally Cousin Richie.”

Another Twitter user asserted that the 48-year-old actor deserves an Emmy.

Moss-Bachrach, recognized for his role as Richie Jerimovich in the comedy-drama series “The Bear,” has received two nominations for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series alongside two Golden Globe nominations, and fans believe he is more than deserving of a win.

One fan commented, “Watching The Bear and The Dropout at the same time and Ebon Moss-Bachrach is in both shows playing totally different characters. I barely recognized him except for his hairline. Give this man an Emmy already.”

The New York-born actor has also earned significant roles on television, breaking out as Desi in HBO’s series “Girls,” appearing in “NOS4A2,” and featuring in the first season of “Star Wars: Andor” in 2022.

This year, Moss-Bachrach portrayed Benn Grimm / The Thing in “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” and is expected to reprise this role in “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Avengers: Secret Wars.”

“The Dropout” is currently streaming on Hulu.
