Fans can’t get enough of Cillian Murphy’s response to Taylor Swift’s enormous engagement ring

Taylor Swift recently flaunted her engagement ring, causing a stir when people noticed Cillian Murphy’s reaction.

In case you’ve missed it, Taylor Swift is engaged to Travis Kelce.

Swift’s fans have been ecstatic over this news, eagerly anticipating her comments about the ring during her latest public appearance.

On Friday, October 3, Swift appeared on the UK’s Graham Norton Show alongside other celebrities such as Greta Lee, Jodie Turner-Smith, Lewis Capaldi, Domhnall Gleeson, and Cillian Murphy.

Naturally, host Graham Norton asked Swift about the ring on her finger.

Visibly excited, she joked about it being a ‘hardware upgrade’ while displaying the ring to him.

She then showed the ring to other celebrities on the couch, prompting loud cheers from the audience.

However, it was Murphy’s reaction, or lack thereof, that caught people’s attention on social media.

Many found it amusing how he appeared unphased, simply clapping and smiling throughout the excitement.

On Twitter, one user commented, “I’m crying… He doesn’t even want to be there. He’s so unintentionally funny.”

Another said, “He really is nonchalance final boss. The way he doesn’t have a closer peek when Taylor extends her hand. His body doesn’t even move.”

Someone else added, “Have you guys seen that video where Taylor Swift is showing off her engagement ring and Cillian Murphy is clapping for her?? It’s just too funny that guy is trying hard to give a s**t.”

Another remarked, “The mental gymnastics Cillian is performing just to get through this is admirable.”

And another observed, “Cillian Murphy delivering a look on behalf of those of us who just don’t get Taylor Swift.”

Despite appearing uninterested, Murphy shared insights into his past in the music industry.

He was part of a band called The Sons of Mr Green Genes in the 90s, and they were offered a five-album deal, which they declined.

Laughing, Murphy recounted to Swift: “We were kids and we got offered this record deal.

“My brother [Páidi] was in the band, and he was only 18. My parents went ‘no’. They wouldn’t let him ruin his life.

“So they allowed me to go and potentially ruin [mine], but then we all just disbanded, and it didn’t happen.”
