Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau are reportedly thriving in their budding relationship.
The pair caused quite a stir online earlier this year following news that they were romantically involved after ending their previous relationships.
Perry’s representatives confirmed her separation from fiancé Orlando Bloom in July. At the time, they issued a statement: “Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on coparenting. They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect.”
Likewise, former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau ended his 18-year marriage with Sophie Grégoire in 2023.
Perry and Trudeau’s relationship seems to have begun a few months back. In September, images emerged of them sharing a kiss on a boat, which appeared to confirm their romance.
Recently, the couple went public on social media when Trudeau posted a photo of Perry on X. The ‘Firework’ singer accompanied him on a visit to meet Japanese politician Fumio Kishida.
Trudeau captioned the photo with Perry, Kishida, and his wife: “Great to see you @kishida230. Katy and I were so glad to have the chance to sit down with you and Yuko. Thank you, Fumio, for your friendship and your continued commitment to both the international rules-based order and to a better future for everyone.”
Kishida responded to the post: “Thank you, Justin. Happy holidays to you and Katy!”
The internet has been buzzing with reactions to Trudeau and Perry’s very public relationship debut. One user remarked, “Not Katy joining on official business. Oh, they are serious serious!”
Another added, “This might be the craziest hard launch in the history of the free world.”
Someone else commented, “Katy Perry doing international diplomacy. did not have this on my top risks 2025 list!”
“Nods to the pairing were echoed by another user: “No way this guy is out here doing business trips with Katy Perry.” Several others merely noted it as a ‘hard launch.’

Despite their closeness, it seems Perry did not spend Thanksgiving with Trudeau. Instead, she celebrated with friends at Shanghai Disney Resort.
