Fans Discover Adam Sandler’s Top Grossing Films and Are Absolutely Stunned

Adam Sandler has been a prominent figure on our screens for three decades, and if you find it challenging to choose a favorite film of his, a list has already been compiled for you.

He has undoubtedly achieved significant success with his films, especially with Happy Gilmore 1 and now its sequel. With so many projects under his belt, it’s easy to lose track.

Whenever Sandler releases a new movie, audiences swarm to watch it, contributing to its financial success and adding to its gross profits.

So, does the highest-grossing film always indicate that it’s the fan favorite?

Perhaps not.

Fans have recently discovered what the top ten Sandler films are, and some of them are not pleased.

This dissatisfaction stems from the belief that some of his best films didn’t make the list, despite being cherished childhood favorites that provided comfort.

If you’re a fan of 50 First Dates or Mr. Deeds, you might find yourself disappointed as well.

The list was unveiled by Yahoo! News and later turned into a ‘can you name it’ challenge on the YouTube channel The Makeshift Project.

On the channel, participants attempted to guess which films made it to the top ten.

Here are the films that made it:

10. Just Go With It

This romantic comedy featuring Sandler and Jennifer Aniston finding love brought in $215 million.

9. Bedtime Stories

This film follows Sandler as he tells imaginative bedtime stories to his niece and nephew, which strangely start becoming reality.

It was well-received and grossed $221 million.

8. Big Daddy

This classic film features Sandler as a father figure to a young boy in need of care.

It successfully earned $229 million.

7. Click

Did tears flow during the scene where Sandler collapses in the rain? You’re not alone, which contributed to its $238 million gross.

6. Pixels

This movie about an interstellar battle involving vintage video game characters, aliens, and humans earned a respectable $244 million.

5. Grown Ups 2

This sequel, which follows a group of friends navigating adult life and its absurdities, made $247 million.

4. Grown Ups

Similar to its sequel but released first, it grossed $272 million.

3. Hotel Transylvania

This animated feature about Dracula running a monster resort and dealing with a human suitor for his daughter grossed $378 million.

2. Hotel Transylvania 2

Sequels sometimes outperform originals, as seen with this one, which earned $470 million.

1. Hotel Transylvania 3

This family-friendly film featuring a summer vacation for the vampire family is Sandler’s highest-grossing film, with $528 million in earnings.

Some fans were displeased with these rankings, with one commenting: “Uncut Gems and Happy Gilmore not being on there is criminal.”

Others expressed their frustration, with one saying the list made them ‘mad’, while another lamented: “The Longest Yard not being on this list is criminal.”

This list comes shortly after the long-awaited release of Happy Gilmore 2, nearly three decades after the original.

While fans enjoyed the sequel, they were upset by the decision to kill off Happy’s wife, Virginia, played by Julie Bowen, due to an unfortunate accident involving a golf ball.

This plot choice angered many, with one Twitter user exclaiming: “Why the f**k did they start off Happy Gilmore 2 with him killing Virginia. You cannot be serious.”

Another user echoed similar sentiments, stating: “Extremely disappointed with the decision to kill Virginia off… Their dynamic could have made this movie.”
